Kingpin into the spider verse movie#
Oh, FYI, I'd love to write the Gargoyles movie for Disney. In closing, let me remind you that the geek shall inherit the Earth. When WilsonKingpin Fisk employs a super collider, others from across the SpiderVerse are transported to this measurement. Business-wise, I make big cheddar (not really) as a copywriter and digital strategist working with some of the top brands in the Latin America region. And yes, I've written sports for them too! Not bad for someone from the Caribbean, eh? To top all this off, I've scribed short films and documentaries, conceptualizing stories and scripts from a human interest and social justice perspective. I also write about music in terms of punk, indie, hardcore and emo because well, they rock! If you're bored by now, then you also don't want to hear that I write for ESPN on the PR side of things. On the geek side of things, I write about comics, cartoons, video games, television, movies and basically, all things nerdy. It was boring so I decided to write about things I love. Wilson Fisk, also better known as the Kingpin, is the main antagonist of Sony Picture Animation's 22nd feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. While Kingpin was indeed a tyrant, he opened Miles' eyes to the more important aspect of life. He handed Fisk off to the cops but learned to value his own family. Visually, the movie captured the oversized giant of a crime lord well, but by breaking him down on the inside this way, we saw an insecure, vulnerable husband and father who just cared about his loved ones, and even Miles empathized with this. When Fisk's family was repulsed by his actions across the Multiverse, though, it basically tore him apart and allowed Miles to incapacitate the villain, reminding us he did have one weakness: family. And that's exactly what happened to Miles as he saw the devil in Fisk's eyes. Kingpin shot Prowler earlier too, reminding Miles that anyone who doesn't want to kill a Spider-Man is considered expendable, so this added to the horror factor of the film and painted Kingpin as someone to fear. He also has a laboratory that created and houses the “Super Collider,” the source of all the film’s multiverse ruckus and realities collapsing inward. The way he beat Miles down when they entered the reactor in the finale also highlights how much of a monster he was.
Kingpin into the spider verse tv#
Unlike the TV series, where Fisk was just a crime boss in New York, Spider-Verse’s Fisk is a billionaire magnate (and crime boss) with a number of conglomerates under his control. In Spider-Verse, we learn that Wilson Fisk lost his family, including his wife Vanessa and his son, in an accident. Spoilers for the ending of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse ahead. But if you know Fisk, be it from the comics or shows like Daredevil, you know that family is one of the most important things to him, and he’ll stop at nothing to protect them. In the movie, Wilson Fisk (Liev Schreiber) tries to open up the multiverse, threatening the fabric of reality - and he does it all for a very personal reason.īecause Into the Spider-Verse, directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, runs at a breathless hundred miles a minute, it can be a bit hard to grasp what Wilson Fisk was trying to accomplish. Fans of the expiring Marvel/Netflix franchise have the closest thing to a crossover in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
